Song History
As the days slip through
Father Time's grasp
You've proven your fidelity
Through the history of past
We know that your Word
Will forever stand true
With a faith like the birds
We blindly follow You

*Chorus*
When I am afraid I trust in You
In God, whose faith I praise
I cast my cares on You, Lord
By Your glory, You sustain
Gently lead us by the hands
Through life's timeless maze
Oh, Lord, we place our trust in You

"the foolishness of God's

wiser than man's wisdom,
and the weakness of God
is more than man's strength" 1 Corinthians 1:25
With your enlightened Spirit
you nurture us
To your will we submit
in humblness

Lyrics Brandon Willey
Music Jeff Davis, Phil Davis

Jeff had been holding onto these lyrics Brandon had written for about four weeks, without any tune coming to mind. Phil (Jeff's younger brother), was sitting in his room plucking away at his guitar, when he started playing what became the intro riff for the song. It all dawned on Jeff, and he worked with Phil to develop the tune. It was recorded for "Purify" with Phil on the lead.

Lyric thoughts from Brandon I derived this song from 1 Corinthians 1:25. I actually adapted this verse into the second verse of the song. I just felt the need to express the humbling fact that God's foolishness is wiser than man's wisdom. We can't do anything that He can't do and nothing we do on our own will ever match His work. So why not just let him take over and direct our lives?
