Song History
Dreaming of a place
Dismal and dark
A place without love and peace
Where the people have no hope or any destiny
Trudging through their lives of monotony
Blindly we walk
Through our days on this earth
Our eyes unable to see
The lost sheep of God
Stranded in the plains
To whom we've been sent to set free

*Chorus*
One generation
from a world without Christ
One generation
from a world without the Light
Who will spread the Gospel
and share the New Life
For if "Christ's love compels us"
We must abandon the nest and fly

On a lonely mountain
off in Galilee
Jesus Christ delivered our mission
To seek out the lost
and live out our faith
"Making disciples of all nations,
Baptizing them in His name"
Sharing in His grace
Revealing the gift of salvation
Delivering the message
of our Savior on the Cross
Praising His name in unison

Lyrics Brandon Willey
Music Jeff Davis

On the high school Mexico trip with Amor Ministries (Spring break 2001), a pastor spoke to the group about the necessity of missions. Some of the last words of his speech rang in the ears of Brandon and Jeff: "We're one generation from a world without Christ." Brandon penned the lyrics to this song on the ride back to Mesa, AZ, and it was recorded for "Purify" with Gabe Durben finger-picking the lead rhythm.

Lyric thoughts from Brandon My thoughts have not changed on the necessity of missions, and am constantly shocked at the truth within the pastor's statement. We are truly one generation away. We must spread the gospel through our nation, other nations, our kids, co-workers, and anyone else God places in our paths.
