Song History
Father, all I've done is complain
but now I want to praise
your glory sits on high in the heavens
You give the gift of grace and salvation

*Chorus*
God I pray, put everything in perspective

I just want to live, live for you everday
I'm tired of frustration, tired of the anger
Father give me your love
give me your joy

All my problems could never compare
to the sufferings your son had to bear
Never should I worry about the next day
For it was me He came to save

Lyrics Brandon Willey
Instrumental music Jeff Davis, Tim Trainor
Vocalic music Jeff Davis

On the same night that "All I Own" was thrown together, Brandon debuted this piece. Tim and Jeff played around with a guitar part for about fifteen minutes, and things were working! Jeff hurried together a vocal line, and the song was not truly completed until Tim's final project at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, where it was recorded with Chris Bisset on lead guitar. At that point, it was a slow, Latin-feel ballad. Before the first Berean show, Jeff decided the song would work better fast, and they tried it out with Gabe Durben on lead guitar, and Terry Willey helping out on percussion. It was recorded for "Purify" as the faster version with Gabe's flamenco riffs.

Lyric thoughts by Brandon This song has an amazing tale behind it...I was sitting in the Memorial Union's cafeteria in front of Chick-fil-a at Arizona State University, finishing a Pizza Hut personal pan combo just watching all the people pass by. I was fascinated by the diversity of God, but distressed at the same time to see so many that were wandering in directions leading far away from God. I pulled out my notepad and began writing down the thoughts and words that were coming to me. Still to this day, that is one of the only songs that I wrote with little need of editing. God was truly moving my hand that day!
