Song History
The day you first broke the news
We couldn't believe that you'd move
The shock ran through in silence
As hopeless despair fell upon us
Who would we talk to
We had built our trust in you

*Chorus*
You've been a good friend, a godly example
life's goal, to save lost souls
We'll always remember the times
And the way you've changed our lives A
But God has asked you to fill a need
Godspeed, brother, Godspeed

You were the first to put in us your faith
You saw the potential and gave us the reins
We thankyou for this undue chance
Despite our flaws and failures of past
We'll use this wisdom you've shown us
to bravely face these changes before us

These last few years were fun
It's hard to fathom your time here is done
We don't want you to go but deep down inside we know
The Lord has a purpose for you
From the Rocky Mountaintops spreading the truth

*End*
As the Holy Spirit whispers in your ear
"You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here"
Shalom, Jeff & Chrissy, Shalom

Lyrics Brandon Willey
Music Jeff Davis, Tim Trainor

Upon hearing the news that Jeff and Chrissy Myal were leaving Mesa and heading to Colorado, Rushing Waters felt the need to send them off with a song. Brandon finished the song lyrics and gave them to Jeff over lunch at Arizona State University. Jeff came up with a basic tune, which Tim developed further. The song was recorded in Central Christian's main Worship Center and presented alone on a CD to the Myals at their last Sunday night College Age Ministry service. It was later added to Purify as the fourth track, without Jeff's original harmonies. Brandon chose a shaker and tamborine and harmonica to complete the bluesy, farewell feel.

Lyric thoughts from Brandon I don't have many unique thoughts on this one. I merely wanted to express my gratitude to them for all that they had done for me, as well as Jeff and Tim. They were the first to really allow us leadership positions and Jeff was the first pastor to take what we had to say and our opinions as equal to his. I spiritually grew heavily under their leadership and guiding. Jeff also had two very unique sayings that he would say frequently and I wanted to include those as well.
